Sanders said that he came across Lawrence and was introduced to the writer and director by actor Tony Terry. Terry is a mutual friend, who has starred in J.D.’s hit Bravo television show “Your Husband Is Cheating on Us”.
A NAACP Legacy Award Winner, Lawrence has written, directed, starred, and featured in productions on Viacom’s BET, Bravo, Aspire, Urban Movie Channel, VH1 amongst others. Having surpassed Guinness World Records in 2019, Lawrence has extensive catalogue of productions including romcom, comedy, reality, horror, police amongst others.
Lawrence said that his goal is to make CLStv a place where diversity thrives. He added that the company will bring relatable stories to CLStv with stories written, directed, and narrated by group of fresh creators.
Darryl Sanders, CEO of CLStv said that the company is thrilled to have J.D as the President, given his industry knowledge. Sanders added that the contract allows the firm to add a strong mix of content. The CEO added that the company is placing content on network throughout April.
